Our kinders have been diving into the world of water animals and the ocean over the past two weeks! They've made fish masks, a big shark, lots of little sharks, octopi, and even a 3D fish tank. Through these creative arts experiences, they've also engaged in deep discussions about protecting the ocean and the importance of not throwing rubbish onto the floor or into the sea. Our children’s fascination with dinosaurs and an

Our children’s fascination with dinosaurs and animals led to creating nature lands indoors, so we took it outside! In the sandpit, they built a big dinosaur and animal kingdom. First, they made houses and sleeping areas, then a mountain forest for the dinosaurs. Using a mix of natural and processed materials, they created a huge mountain and a river for the octopus and crocodiles. For the Chinese Dragon Festival, our pre-kinders and kinders made sticky rice date dumplings (zongzi 粽子) and crafted paddles for a boat race (hualongzhou 划龙舟). Using wooden blocks, we built a boat indoors and had an exciting race! We also celebrated with Chinese drums, costumes, and dress-up for a week full of festivities. We made so many sticky rice dumplings that we have been sending them home with children all week!🐉🥁🎨 #ChineseDragonFestival

If only you could hear and see how happy our children were to see their beloved educator, Suggar, come to say goodbye. The squeals, smiles, laughs, and giggles filled Kimmba with so much energy as the children eagerly demanded, "Can we play the monster game, Suggar?!" Our mandarin tree has finally fully fruited after growing alongside our Kimmba children for over 12 years! 🌳🍊 Our little ones have enjoyed the fruits of patience and hard work from former Kimmba graduates. They've watched the mandarins grow, picked the ripe fruit straight from the tree, and worked on their fine motor skills by peeling them. This activity has taught them about sharing and showing respect for their environment. 🌿🎨 Today, our children embarked on a leaf-hunting adventure outdoors, gathering fallen leaves and other natural treasures. Back inside, they excitedly discussed their findings and decided to create a magnificent artwork together. 🖼️✂️ As they practised writing their names and learned to use scissors on both 'thin' and 'thick' leaves, they also connected to Earth Day, continuing their exploration of nature. As the vibrant celebrations of Luna New Year wind down, we concluded with an exhilarating Chinese dragon race complimented with drums and a lion dance! 🐉🎉 Dressed in traditional dragon heads, and carrying chinese drums, our kinders and pre-kinders immersed themselves in the excitement, using a variety of materials to engage in the spirited race such as colourful pom poms. Regardless of their choices of coloured tools, all of our dancers danced to the rhythm of the music together. Through this lively activity, they not only practiced sharing and turn-taking but also delved into the rich story and symbolism of the dragon in Chinese culture.
