Kimmba Bilingual Early Learning Centre is a licensed Long Day Care Service. Kimmba’s unique Chinese and English bilingual curriculum is offered to parents and children Monday to Friday, 7.30-6:00pm, and it is the ONLY ELC in Melbourne with a government funded 4 year old bilingual kindergarten educational program. German, Spanish and Chinese programs are also available for infants, toddlers and preschoolers.
Kimmba incorporates the Reggio Emilia teaching theory and Dr. H Gardner’s Multiple Intelligences philosophy and teaching methods into its innovative and captivative bilingual educational program.
It is a licensed child care service which also provides half day language program from its premises close to the CBD, Monday to Friday. Our aim is to provide early learners (3-36 months), pre-schoolers (3-5 years) and some primary school children (6+ years) the chance to learn a foreign language, currently Mandarin, Spanish or German and grow up a bilingual citizen of the world.
Half day or full day language learning sessions are designed for families who have flixibility work-study arrangement. We understand the working parents’ dilemma of finding an educational based, flexible childcare arrangement in Melbourne is sometimes tough and difficult. The majority of long day care centres are only providing Full day placements, regardless of how many hours you need your child to be cared for while you are working part time. At Kimmba we are focusing on offering a fun, engaging, and memorable early years’ bilingual learning experience to your child, at times that suit your working hours. Therefore, we have morning half day (any time between 7.30am to 12.30pm) or afternoon half day (any time between 1 to 6pm) available for children who’s focus is language learning, rather than childcare service to participate in our innovative and unique bilingual early education.
Recent research has shown that the benefits of Bilingualism extend well beyond childhood. Bilingual children are not only more likely to succeed in their future academic study but also develop into sociable and well-balanced individuals without bias. This Bilingual Program we provide follows the National Early Years Framework. Children are taught by our bilingual kindergarten-qualified teacher and educators Monday to Friday.
